HTH: Prolonged Adolescence
The following article from The New Yorker looks at the trend of prolonged adolescence. In particular, it makes connections between parents not expecting any contribution from kids in the household and those adult kids moving back in with their parents when they finish college. This secular piece brings light to an issue with which some of our families may be struggling. Furthermore, it begs the question of the effects that not encouraging children and teens to serve within our congregations has on their long-term attitude toward the church.
