HTH: Teens Agree that Anxiety and Depression are Major Problems Among Peers
As youth leaders and parents, it is essential that we study the culture our teenagers live in so that we can care well for them. This recent study by Pew Research Center brings to light some of the perceptions our students are operating with, such as what they feel most pressured by (getting good grades) and what they see their peers struggling with (depression and anxiety). Studies like these can be helpful resources for knowing how to pray for our students in specific ways, and for inviting them to be seen and known through compassionate and curious conversations with them. What would it be like to bring up this study with some of your teens to see if they agree or disagree, and to invite stories of their experiences with the data?
