Rooted Ministry offers a unique, simple annual conference for both youth ministers and parents of teenagers. Rooted Ministry begins with the Gospel as the starting point and considers all matters in student ministry and youth culture from that axis. These conferences feature great preaching, engaging biblical teaching, practical workshops, sincere worship and the most intimate atmosphere you’ve ever encountered at a conference. Just the Gospel, relationships and conversations.
Registration will open for all on March 1, and a prize will be give to the first 10 registrants. Because it is in our hometown, we do anticipate a sell-out, so we encourage you to register early.
Please note: Based on state and federal recommendations at that time, we will have safety protocols in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Rooted Ministry organizes our annual conferences for parents and youth ministers to offer great teaching and an ideal venue for relationships and the interchange of ideas. The hope is that attendees will leave feeling that they learned a great deal, both from the program and from conversations.

This is intended for individuals who have previously written for the Rooted blog. We want to honor our writers and pour back into them by offering this free mini-conference on writing, led by Rooted editors Anna Meade Harris, Chelsea Erickson and Charlotte Getz. Attendees will submit an article ahead of time, and we will spend a portion of our time editing each other’s pieces. Anyone who has written for our blog — once, twice, yesterday, or eight years ago — is warmly invited to join us (at no cost) for this pre-conference. For more information or to register for this pre-conference, contact Anna Harris at [email protected].
The plenary speakers deliver content-filled talks which last 35-40 minutes.
This venue includes practical instruction on a topic within youth ministry and youth culture. The workshop involves content from the speaker as well interaction with the leader. For example, a teacher may offer 35-40 minutes of instruction on exegetical teaching to junior high students with questions along the way.
Our workshops features two different tracks: youth ministry and parenting. The workshops with YM next to the title are designed for youth ministers and youth ministry volunteers. Those with PT next to the title are specifically designed for parents. Some are applicable to both.
Meals and Dinner Groups:
Each year, we offer several meals for our attendees to connect and fellowship with one another throughout the conference. One dinner and a boxed lunch are included in your registration fee.
One night attendees will have the option to attend a dinner group at a local restaurant. Youth ministry teams practicing in various contexts lead the dinner group and share how they do ministry in that context. Registration for dine-arounds will open on June 1.
